In March 31, 2009, Phrontier Technologies LLC has introduced the Phast fiber adapter for Camera Link base, medium and full interface cameras. It supports demanding 10 tap × 8-bit configurations at up to 85 MHz.It offers a bandwidth of 670 MB/s and plugs directly into cameras and frame grabbers without the need for Camera Link cables, saving space and expense. The adapter sends high-speed real-time image data at a distance of up to 250 m over duplex fiber cables and operates from a single 5- to 24-VDC power supply.

The company’s Phire-S is a fiber optic adapter for the Camera Link base configuration. It uses only one fiber for bi-directional data transmission and extends the industrial camera signals for up to 10 km. It is supplied with an SC or LC simplex connector and a choice of single- or multimode fiber.
